Mission Ridge Guidlines

Dear Parents / Guardian,

This letter is to inform and assure you that your child will have a pleasant and safe experience at Mission Ridge Winter Park.

Our instructors are Level 1 or 2 CSIA* and CASI* accredited. They are trained to encourage safe, controlled skiing and snowboarding during and after your child’s lesson.

Throughout the entire day, our staff watches out for those who require additional instruction or just a little encouragement. Every effort is made to ensure that each child progresses to the point where he or she reaches a feeling of accomplishment.

Mission Ridge offers a variety of terrain, from very easy to more difficult. All of our slopes are groomed every morning with the most advanced grooming equipment to ensure great conditions for all levels of skiers.

At Mission Ridge your child is individually fitted with top quality rental ski and snowboard equipment by certified technicians.

Skiing & Snowboarding at Mission Ridge - February 9th, 2017

Dear Parents,

Grade 6-8 students from Jack MacKenzie are going on a Learn to Ski Excursion at Mission Ridge in Fort Qu’Appelle on Thursday, February 9^th,  2017. 

The following is a pricing guide depending on each student’s situation.  Please place an “X” on the line in front of the option that best suits your needs.

_____   Ski Package (skis, boots, poles, lift ticket, helmet) - $ 37.00 Taxes Included. (Add $6.00  

             for bussing).     Total Cost - $43.00

_____   Snowboard Package (snowboard, boots, lift ticket, helmet) - $ 42.00 Taxes Included.

 (Add $6.00 for bussing).      Total Cost - $48.00

_____   Lift ticket only-$ 24.00 ( Add $6.00 for bussing )      Total Cost – $30.00

_____   Helmet only-$5.00 ( Add $6.00 for bussing )      Total Cost - $11.00

_____   **Bus transportation - $ 6.00 All students must pay this amount regardless of the      

          situation.**

Documents must be signed and returned, with payment made, by Friday, February 3rd.  Please remember that payments are to be made via our online payment service.

We have had a great response to our invitation for parent chaperones.  Chaperones are able to ski/snowboard at the same cost as the students under the school rate.  Please fill out the form indicating your package preference and return back to the school with your payment.  Because parents/chaperones cannot pay on-line, we ask that you please send a cheque for the correct amount.

                               

Students can bring a lunch or purchase food at their cafeteria.

Documents with arrival and departure times as well as commonly asked questions are attached.  Please fill out the necessary forms.

Ski/Snowboard Letter of Intent Note

January 18th, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Jack Mackenzie School grades 6 – 8 classes are planning a ski trip to Mission Ridge on February 9th, 2017.  Part of our preparations for this trip is to ensure students have transportation to and from the ski hill.  We need to know how many students will be attending so that we can order the appropriate number of busses and make sure that the costs of the busses are shared equally among all the students.

We are also looking for a few volunteers to help as chaperones. 

Please fill out and return the bottom portion of this note to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Monday, January 23^rd, 2017.  Additional information in regards to this trip will be sent home to be filled out and returned at a later date.

These half days will provide grade 8 students with some fun activities at Campbell Collegiate interacting with staff and with older students.

This is an opportunity for future students and their families to come to Campbell Collegiate to learn about the school, tour various core areas and gain valuable registration information.  This is an excellent opportunity for our community to see what our school is all about. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and genorosity!  You are a wonderful group of parents and students and I am so lucky to be working with such a great group of people.  I am looking forward to working with you and your children in 2017!

Welcome Mr. Don Lee

Until the Christmas break Mr. Clarke will be taking a leave from Jack MacKenzie School.  During his absence I will be covering for him in the office.  Consequently, I would like to welcome Mr. Don Lee to our school community during this time to cover my assignment.  Don is a recent immigrant to Saskatchewan from Alberta because his wife, a banking executive, was promoted to a new role in our fine city.  Don brings a wealth of experience to our school.  In addition to teaching elementary, junior and senior high school in both regular and special needs settings with Edmonton Public Schools, he has also been a Special Needs Coordinator, Department Head, Curriculum Coordinator, Counselor, Assistant Principal and Principal with that district.  Don may seem familiar to some of you as he has been working as a substitute teacher with Regina Public Schools since last November and has even taught at our school several times over the past year.  We look forward to sharing all that Jack MacKenzie has to offer with him over the next month.
